NITLE DSpace Pilot Service launched
A DSpace hosting service was launched by NITLE this week. This includes:
• 100GB of storage, with an option to purchase additional storage as needed, for the preservation and management of data sets, student theses, institutional documents, and other objects as determined by the purchasing college
• Interface customization for institutional branding of purchased storage
• Optional capability to open institutional repositories to collaborative sharing with institutional partners
• NITLE facilitation and staff support for a DSpace user community, including:
• a Moodle-based course and an e-mail list to support on-going, inter-institutional, peer-to-peer exchange and collaboration around ideas and best practices related to DSpace
• an annual, face-to-face user group meeting to connect users during the pilot period; facilitate the sharing of ideas and practices; support institutional efforts to implement DSpace effectively on campus; and explore collaboratively the potential advantages of sharing repository services across institutions
• on-going opportunities for users to provide feedback about service enhancements and help set priorities
• An option to purchase LDAP binding for authentication
A web-based signup form is available.
